Rising River Washes Away Temporary Bridges in Tourist Area of Turkestan Region

Heavy rainfall in the tourist area of Tolebi district caused the water level in the Akmeshit River to rise, Orda.kz reports.
As a result, two temporary man-made bridges connecting the recreation area and outdoor zone were washed away. A crossing in the area of Ekpindi village was also damaged.
Emergency Ministry forces quickly arrived at the scene. Eleven people, including seven children, were moved to a safe place from Ekpindi village. Another 70 people, including 20 children, were evacuated from the recreation area.
Special equipment was brought in to organize a temporary crossing. None of the evacuees required medical assistance. There were no injuries.
Emergency Ministry staff, Kazselezashchita, police and representatives of local executive bodies continue to work at the scene.
