Shymbulak Cable Car Extends Summer Schedule

From July 25 through August 31, the Medeu–Shymbulak cable car will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Orda.kz reports, citing the resort administration.

The hours were extended because private vehicles are temporarily banned from the Medeu–Tuyuk-Su road while infrastructure in the Shymbulak area is upgraded. The restrictions will remain in place from July 24 through November 30.

Only emergency and public services, local residents and authorized vehicles may use the road during this period.

The area remains accessible on foot via the Student Trail. The route begins near the final stop for buses No. 12 and No. 21 by the Medeu dam, runs below the dam and leads to the Gorelnik Visitor Center.
