The resorts of Kazakhstan welcomed 4.9 million people in 2025, which is 11.6% more than a year earlier, Orda.kz reports, citing Energyprom.
In five years, the tourist flow has nearly tripled. The absolute leader is the Almaty mountain cluster. Almost 3 million people visited it, which is more than 60% of all visitors to the country’s resort areas. Growth over the year was 10%. The main points of attraction are Shymbulak, Ak-Bulak, Pioneer and the all-season Oi-Qaragai resort.
In the winter season of 2025/2026 alone, Oi-Qaragai was visited by more than 365,000 people, 28% more than a year earlier. Second place went to Borovoye with 463,000 visitors, an increase of 33.6%. Third place was taken by Mangystau with 370,000 visitors. However, the tourist flow there fell by 9.5%. The main vacation spots are Aktau, the Kenderli coast and Fort Shevchenko.
The top five also included Balkhash with 183,000 visitors and Alakol in the Zhetysu region with 149,000.
The leaders are the same in terms of revenue. The Almaty mountain cluster brought in almost 122 billion tenge. This is 61% of all resort-area revenue. Borovoye earned 29.2 billion tenge, and Mangystau 19.6 billion.
