In the village of Rabat in the Turkestan region, a school that was commissioned only three years ago has already begun to fall apart, Orda.kz reports. Teachers say the building has numerous defects and are demanding an inspection of the contractor.
According to the teachers, since the school opened they have had to deal with construction flaws on their own. The roof leaks, the basement floods after rain, and cracks are appearing in the walls. They also say the contractor never completed part of the work.
There is no lawn at the stadium, no landscaping has been done, and the playground is not fenced. Every time we are afraid that the water will reach the electrical panel — it is dangerous for the children. said deputy principal Bolat Pernebekov.
There are also sanitary problems. Despite the presence of indoor toilets, the school is forced to use outdoor ones because the septic tank is overflowing and there is a bad smell inside the building.
The contractor promised to fix everything, but did nothing. The school continues to fall apart, and the warranty period expires this summer. said trade union chairman Bekzhan Dos.
The education department of the Kazygurt district has repeatedly sent letters to the developer with a list of defects and photographs. However, there has been no response.
As a result, the construction department filed a lawsuit in court. Teachers and village residents also filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office — both against the contractor and against those who accepted the building into operation.
