New textbooks for schoolchildren will be released in Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
In 2027, the authorities plan to release new textbooks for grades one to five, as well as update textbooks for grades 10–11. This was announced at a government meeting by Minister of Education Zhuldyz Suleimenova.
She noted that in 2026, textbooks for grades three, four, seven, eight, and nine will be updated. In 2027, new textbooks for grades one and five are planned for release. Textbooks for grades 10–11 will also be updated, with a complete replacement of maps and historical and administrative materials. In 2028, new textbooks for grades two and six are planned.
This approach will ensure high-quality training of students, develop their analytical and scientific thinking, and form competencies that are in demand in the modern economy. Thus, the education system will consistently implement the strategic task set by the head of state — the formation of a technological nation capable of successfully competing in the context of global scientific and technological changes.Suleimenova emphasized.
In general, textbooks are rewritten quite often in Kazakhstan. The last time was in 2023–2024. Mistakes are often found in them, corrected, and the textbooks are reissued. There was even a time when textbooks were planned to be replaced with tablets, but this initiative was not implemented.
