Russia to Resume Gas Supply to Breakaway Transnistria - Krasnoselsky
Transnistria's leader, Vadim Krasnoselsky, announced on January 15 that Russia would restart gas deliveries to the internationally unrecognized region as humanitarian assistance.
The decision allegedly came after his meetings at Russia's Energy Ministry in Moscow.
Gas supplies to the rest of Moldova will remain suspended.
Gazprom cut off gas to Moldova on January 1, claiming Moldovagaz had failed to pay debts.
The interruption in gas supply has triggered extensive power outages across Transnistria, threatening the region's industrial sector.
