During the monitoring of internet resources, 26 violations of the law related to public opinion polls on social issues were recorded, Orda.kz reports.
This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Kanat Iskakov. All the cases concerned non-compliance with legal requirements during sociological surveys.
I would like to appeal to media representatives: today, we are seeing violations of this requirement regarding the conduct of surveys. This information was sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office. At the same time, during campaigning on online platforms, 54 cases of legal violations were identified. Iskakov said at a meeting of the Central Election Commission in Astana.
This information was transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The main issue in the original is that “how many were punished” is stronger than what the text actually says. It describes recorded violations, not confirmed punishments.
