Exit Polls Indicate Strong Support For Kazakhstan’s New Constitution
Most Kazakhstanis supported the adoption of the new Constitution, according to preliminary referendum results based on exit polls, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Eurasian Integration Institute, 86.7% of voters backed the new version of the Basic Law. An exit poll conducted by the Institute for Comprehensive Social Research “Socis-A” showed 87.4% voting in favor.
The Institute of Public Policy of the AMANAT party reported the highest figure, saying 88.6% of respondents supported the new Constitution. According to the same exit poll, turnout stood at 72.1%.
According to the Central Referendum Commission, nationwide turnout reached 73.24%. In total, 9,126,850 citizens of Kazakhstan took part in the vote.
