Prosecutor General Berik Asylov stated this on his X account, Orda.kz reports.
Special prosecutors are investigating the cases. Asylov instructed them to investigate the members and administrators of several Telegram channels regarding the content that pushed children to commit suicide.
Three pre-trial investigations have been launched into the promoting of suicide on the Internet under Article 313-1 of the Criminal Code. We will carry out the necessary investigative actions and appoint a number of examinations. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been instructed to check all suicide cases in the country for signs of Article 313-1 of the Criminal Code. We will also check social networks,
the country's attorney general wrote.
Regarding the foreign sites promoting suicide, international requests for legal assistance will also be sent.
During the investigation, we will consider the matter of the need to amend the current legislation,
Asylov added.
Berik Asylov recently discussed dangerous online children's games such as "Blue Whale" and "Red Dolphin." He said prosecutors began playing these games to understand their effects.
The wave of child suicides has caused a public reaction. One case occurred on September 16 — two schoolgirls from Almaty fell from the roof of a multi-story building. A few days later, another girl died under similar circumstances. Rumors immediately emerged that these cases were interconnected and that the cause was “Red Dolphin.”
