Police Identify Vandal Behind Graffiti On Rocks In Karkaraly National Park

Police in the Karaganda region have identified a man suspected of painting inscriptions on rocks in Karkaraly State National Nature Park, Orda.kz reports.
The suspect is a 49-year-old resident of Shakhtinsk. According to the Karaganda region police department’s press service, administrative proceedings have been launched against him under the article on petty hooliganism.
The case materials have been sent to court for a procedural decision.
Police reminded the public that damaging natural heritage sites carries legal liability.
Several days earlier, a photo from Karkaraly National Park appeared in a Shakhtinsk public group. According to the post’s author, unknown visitors had left inscriptions on the rocks. Volunteers had cleaned the stones the day before, but park visitors quickly covered them with writing again.
