Toqayev met with Emmanuel Macron and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during a working visit to Riyadh, Orda.kz reports, citing Aqorda.
The President delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the One Water Summit in the Saudi Arabian capital. He called water security the foundation of economic progress and environmental protection and urged participants to work together to strengthen it.
The President also spoke about the Aral Sea.
Water has no borders. It connects communities and ecosystems. As the Chair of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, Kazakhstan supports the promotion of regional cooperation and joint action. From our point of view, it is essential that countries that are at the forefront of combating climate change expand dialogue, develop international partnerships and pool resources to implement water projects, he stated.
At the meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Qasym-Jomart Toqayev celebrated the 30th anniversary of fruitful diplomatic relations between the two countries. The parties discussed trade and investment in energy, oil and gas, transport, and logistics.
While speaking with Emmanuel Macron, the Head of Kazakhstan recalled his recent state visit to France.
He thanked the President for his hospitality and noted that concrete results had already been achieved on several agreements reached just a few weeks ago during the visit.
