In response to Orda.kz's inquiry, the Ministry of Culture and Information has informed that it has requested the removal of the controversial track from Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and VKontakte.
The request extends to a post with the "You Orystar" (Yo Russians - Ed.) song fragment on QazNews24's Instagram account posted by Temirlan Yensebek.
The Ministry's monitoring found 22 instances of the track on foreign platforms:
- TikTok: 12 instances
- YouTube: 8 instances
- VKontakte: 2 instances
We will identify individuals posting illegal content after criminal proceedings begin, the Ministry stated.
While Kazakhstan lacks an official registry of banned works, the Ministry monitors mass media for legal compliance.
Temirlan Yensebek, who runs the satirical QazNews24, was detained on January 17 and charged with inciting ethnic discord (Article 174).
He will be in custody for two months.
Journalists have held solo protests with "satire is not a crime" signs, though police maintain Yensebek's actions constitute discord incitement.
