Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry is considering Kyrgyzstan’s request for gasoline supplies, Orda.kz reports.
Kyrgyzstan has sent an official request to Kazakhstan for gasoline supplies, Deputy Energy Minister Kaiyrkhan Tutkyshbayev said at a government briefing.
Journalists asked how Kazakhstan would respond if neighboring countries requested fuel amid gasoline shortages in Russia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as repairs at the Atyrau refinery.
Tutkyshbayev said there had been no official request from Russia to Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry.
An official request has been received from the Kyrgyz side, and we are now considering it. But all decisions will be made taking into account national interests and the domestic balance. Meeting such requests will not lead to higher prices inside the country, I officially declare this to you,the deputy minister said.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan’s request will be reviewed soon, after which Kazakhstan will give its response.
