Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held another meeting on the fuel market in Kazakhstan. The government says there is no fuel shortage, but control over illegal exports and domestic fuel circulation has been tightened, Orda.kz reports.

Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said all oil refineries in Kazakhstan are operating as planned. He said the country has enough gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel to meet domestic demand.

According to Deputy Finance Minister Yerzhan Birzhanov, authorities stopped 61 attempts to export fuel and lubricants at checkpoints over the past two days. The total amount of fuel found in additional tanks and canisters exceeded three tons.

Specialists also checked 18 vehicles used to transport fuel and lubricants. Samples were taken for examination from one fuel truck carrying 34 tons of oil products.

State revenue authorities are also analyzing the work of 62 gas stations and 22 mini-refineries where an abnormal increase in service volumes was recorded. These facilities will be checked.

Following the meeting, Olzhas Bektenov said the stability of the domestic oil products market remains one of the government’s priorities. He instructed state agencies to monitor the situation daily.
