Kazakhstan To Expand Average Speed Checks On Toll Roads In 2026

Kazakhstan will expand average speed checks on several toll road sections in 2026, Orda.kz reports.
Deputy Chairman of the Highway Committee Maksat Bayakhmet said average speed will be measured on toll road sections from Karaganda to Almaty, from Oskemen to Taldykorgan, and from Khorgos to Almaty.
Today, average speed is measured on 4,900 kilometers of roads. The number of road accidents has decreased in areas where average speed checks were introduced. In the first quarter of this year, the decrease was 15%,he said.
Since December 4, 2025, Kazakhstan has had liability for exceeding average speed on straight sections of highways.
