Kazakhstan has temporarily banned imports of fresh and chilled tomatoes from countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union, Orda.kz reports.
The restrictions will remain in force until June 30. The relevant order was signed by the minister of agriculture.
The ban applies to deliveries by all types of transport.
At the same time, tomatoes from EAEU countries — Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia — are still allowed. Transit shipments through Kazakhstan are also not affected by the restrictions.
The Agriculture Ministry instructed the State Inspection Committee in the agro-industrial complex and the State Revenue Committee to enforce the new rules.
