Kazakhstan plans to speed up the delivery of transit cargo through the EAEU, Orda.kz reports.
Senator Bekbol Orynbasarov announced the measure at a Senate meeting. According to him, the law ratifying the agreement on a unified customs transit system between the EAEU and third countries should reduce transportation time and simplify cargo control.
The agreement creates new transparent and stable rules for carriers and businesses. We are moving away from unnecessary bureaucracy at borders, speeding up cargo clearance, and creating a single safe transit standard for EAEU countries and the union’s partners,Orynbasarov said.
He added that the system will allow cargo to be tracked in real time using navigation seals and will reduce inspection times.
Thanks to process automation and mutual recognition of customs authorities’ decisions, we will significantly reduce the number of inspections at internal borders. As a result, cargo processing time will fall from several hours to about 30 minutes. In addition, businesses will no longer have to repeatedly pay customs duties and taxes in each transit country, which will reduce the financial burden and logistics costs,Orynbasarov said.
The agreement provides for faster transit operations and transportation, fewer administrative barriers between countries, mutual recognition of customs decisions, the use of navigation seals for cargo tracking, and the possible expansion of the system if other states join.
The Senate approved the law ratifying the agreement on the unified customs transit system of the Eurasian Economic Union and third countries in the first reading.
