Kazakhstan plans to increase oil transportation through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, Orda.kz reports, citing Akorda.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze held talks and signed a joint statement on strategic partnership.

One of the main topics was trade, investment and the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Kazakhstan also plans to develop transport and logistics infrastructure, container transportation and digital services.

Over the past five years, transit traffic along the Trans-Caspian route has increased 3.5 times. By 2029, the countries plan to launch up to 3000 container trains on the route.

Kazakhstan is also interested in expanding its presence in Georgian ports. Last year, a new multimodal terminal opened in Poti with the participation of investors. The sides also see the development of the Anaklia port as a promising project.

Tokayev proposed defining the main areas of cooperation in a joint roadmap.

The countries also plan to exchange experience in digital government, online public services and GovTech solutions. Kazakhstan invited Georgian startups and IT companies to take part in Astana Hub projects.

The leaders also discussed cooperation in health care, education, culture and tourism. Tokayev proposed holding cultural days in both countries.

After the meeting, Tokayev awarded Kobakhidze the Order of Dostyk, first degree.
