President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Sergio Gor, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy for South and Central Asia, Orda.kz reports, citing Akorda.

The meeting focused on Kazakhstan-U.S. cooperation, with both sides again stressing trade, investment and critical minerals — areas that have become increasingly important in Washington’s policy toward Central Asia.

Tokayev said Kazakhstan is ready to further strengthen its strategic partnership with the United States. He also thanked Trump for inviting him to the G20 summit in Miami and said he expects to meet the U.S. president at the end of the year.

Gor said Washington wants mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan. According to him, the U.S. and countries of the region reached agreements and concluded deals worth more than 20 billion dollars over the past year.

The parties also discussed transport, logistics, digitalization and regional issues. Separate attention was given to the Board of Peace, of which Kazakhstan is one of the co-founders.
