Kazakh Tourism Names Top Tourist Villages for 2025

Kazakh Tourism has announced the results of the national "Best Tourist Village - 2025" competition, reports Orda.kz.
The project aims to develop tourism and promote villages with unique natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and traditions.
The winners of the national stage will represent Kazakhstan at the annual UN Tourism Best Tourism Village competition organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
Each region could nominate up to three villages for the competition.
The selection process mainly focused on cultural and natural heritage and how well traditional activities have been preserved in these villages - potential attractions for travelers interested in new routes and authentic tourism experiences.
The best tourist villages in Kazakhstan were named as:
- Lepsi (Jetisu region, Alakol district)
- Nagi Ilyasov (Qyzylorda region, Sarydarya district)
- Khan Ordasy (West Kazakhstan region, Bokeyorda district)
- Poperechnoye (East Kazakhstan region, Ridder district)
- Shabanbai bi (Qaraganda region, Aqtogay district)
In 2023, the village of Saty in the Almaty region was recognized as the best tourism village at the international level, receiving the Best Tourism Villages by UNWTO award.
