Servicemen from Kazakhstan’s UN peacekeeping contingent on the Golan Heights organized a humanitarian mission together with representatives of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, Orda.kz reports, citing the Defense Ministry.
A medical aid point for local residents was set up in the village of Trunja in Quneitra province in southwestern Syria. Special attention was given to children, elderly people and other socially vulnerable groups. Military doctors examined patients, provided consultations and distributed the medicines they needed.
A total of 93 local residents underwent medical examinations. The most common diagnoses were acute respiratory infections, musculoskeletal diseases, arterial hypertension and diabetes.
Earlier, Orda.kz reported that members of Kazakhstan’s third national contingent for the UN mission on the Golan Heights had completed special training at the Bitimger peacekeeping operations training center of the Defense Ministry and were ready to be deployed to Syria.
