Organizers and a ticket service have announced a Kanye West concert at Almaty’s Central Stadium on August 14. However, the venue has not approved the event, and the performance does not appear on the artist’s official schedule, Orda.kz reports.
Ticket sales are expected to open on July 20, with prices ranging from 120,000 to 350,000 tenge.
Joseph Carre, a manager who works with West on YEEZY projects and music management, also shared the Almaty concert announcement on Instagram.
However, FC Kairat, which uses Central Stadium as its home ground, said the August 14 date had not been agreed with the club.
Kairat is scheduled to play home matches at the stadium on August 8 and 15. The team could also host a European competition match between August 11 and 13.
The club said a concert of this size would require significant time to set up and remove the stage. It could also damage the field and affect preparations for the matches.
Until the necessary approvals are completed, the club considers it premature to announce Central Stadium as the venue for the concert on August 14,Kairat’s press service said.
The club added that all major events at the stadium must follow the approved football schedule and be coordinated with every party involved.
