In the Jambyl region, police have detained Yerken Abayev, head of the Talas district police department, who had previously been on the wanted list, Orda.kz reports.
The case originated with a complaint against traffic inspector Darkhan Ualiyev, who had allegedly stopped the son of a local deputy. The exact reason for the stop remains unclear, but the deputy’s son accused the officer of “illegal actions."
According to investigators, Abayev, then head of the ROP, attempted to “settle the matter” through the deputy head of the regional police, Zhaydarbek Kuttybayev.
While Abayev and Ualiyev appear in the correspondence, Kuttybaev himself did not directly engage in the discussion. After a two-month investigation, Kuttybaev was removed from his post and later taken into custody.
