Explosion at Kazzinc Leaves Nine Injured, Two in Serious Condition

An explosion occurred at a Kazzink LLP plant in Oskemen, Orda.kz reports, citing the Emergency Situations Ministry.
According to preliminary information, a dust collection unit exploded, causing a fire and the partial collapse of structures.

Four people were taken to a medical facility. We are searching for victims.the East Kazakhstan Region emergency department said.
Forty rescuers and 10 pieces of equipment are working at the scene. The Emergency Situations Ministry has set up an operational headquarters. The area affected by the fire is still being determined.

Rescuers continue to work at the scene. Dog handlers with search dogs have joined the operation, and specialists are still clearing debris under which people may remain trapped. Doctors from the disaster medicine center are working at the plant, and five ambulance crews have been dispatched there.
According to the regional health department, nine people were injured, and two of them are in serious condition (UPD. two of them are dead). Preliminary information indicates that one person is currently in intensive care.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has instructed state agencies to respond. The Emergency Situations Ministry and the Ecology Ministry must assess the situation, take the necessary measures and report the results.
The prime minister has taken the situation under personal control.
