The Ministry of Energy has refused to name the Singaporean company that will build CHP plants in Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
Samruk-Energo Chairman Kairat Maksutov answered a question about the contractors that will be involved in the construction of CHP plants in Semey and Oskemen.
Earlier, Maksutov said a Singaporean consortium would take over the projects instead of Russian contractors. However, he did not name the consortium, citing a nondisclosure agreement.
As for experience, the companies were, of course, selected according to certain criteria. The key criterion was experience in building coal-fired power plants. These companies have relevant experience. The next criterion was financial stability, including the ability to provide bank guarantees for contract performance and advance payments. These guarantees will be provided. Another criterion was the availability of the relevant licenses. In fact, these companies meet all these criteria, so they passed the selection process, and contracts were signed with them.he said.
Asked about the Singaporean company’s experience, Maksutov said he knew of two projects in India and Indonesia, but did not name them. He said the company’s name could be disclosed only after consent is obtained.
