Astana to Reward Residents for Reporting Offenses

Astana has approved new rules for rewarding residents who help prevent offenses. Citizens can now receive up to 86,500 tenge for information that assists the police, Orda.kz reports.
The relevant resolution was adopted by the capital’s akimat. The document sets the procedure for rewarding residents who take part in crime prevention and replaces similar rules that had been in force since 2018.
The payment will depend on the importance of the information provided. The maximum reward is 20 MCI, or 86,500 tenge in 2026.
Residents whose reports help prevent or solve an offense will be eligible for payment. A special commission will make the final decision after reviewing materials submitted by law enforcement agencies.
