The Court of Appeal has found Aqtau prosecutor Yerbolat Abdirov guilty of petty hooliganism and fined him 78,640 tenge, Orda.kz reports.
Earlier, a court of first instance had closed the case, ruling that no violation occurred. The Air Transport Prosecutor’s Office appealed, and the appellate court decided otherwise.
According to the case file, on the night of August 27, Abdirov harassed passengers and disrupted public order on a bus at Almaty airport. His guilt was confirmed by witness testimony and police materials.
The Mangystau Regional Prosecutor’s Office launched an internal investigation, suspending Abdirov from his post during the proceedings.
He maintains that the accusations against him are exaggerated.
