LRT test runs are almost complete, and the system is ready for launch. The line is expected to open in the near future, Astana akim Zhenis Kassymbek said on social media, Orda.kz reports.
The main work is now focused not on the line itself, but on the surrounding infrastructure and the adjacent territory. Authorities say they will first ensure convenient access to the stations.
Landscaping and improvement work along the route will continue throughout the summer. Plans include building adjacent roads and access roads, planting greenery to create a “green corridor,” installing lighting, and arranging public spaces under the overpass.
Active work is underway on the section from Tauelsizdik Avenue to Nurly Zhol station.
The functional readiness of the stations and access routes to them will be ensured in the near future. The comprehensive development of the landscape and architectural appearance under the LRT route will continue until the end of the summer season.Kassymbek said.
