Aqtobe Official Charged with Road Marking Fund Embezzlement
The director of Aqtobe's Center for Road Safety and Digital Technologies has been charged with embezzling 272 million tenge from road marking projects, Orda.kz reports.
Prosecutors say the official approved payment certificates for road marking work that was never completed, misappropriating government procurement funds through falsified documentation.
Under Article 189, Part 4, Clause 2 of Kazakhstan's Criminal Code, the director faces charges for embezzlement of entrusted property through abuse of official position.
He has been detained pending trial, and the case has been forwarded to court.
