A tender for 4,000 outdoor lighting fixtures for Almaty Kala Zharyk has appeared on the public procurement portal, Orda.kz reports.
According to the tender documents, the city plans to buy LED lamps with a capacity of 145 to 155 watts. The customer is ready to pay 80,357 tenge for each fixture. Since the company plans to buy 4,000 units, the total purchase amount is 321.4 million tenge.
What Kind Of Lights Does The City Want To Install?
According to the technical specifications, the new lights must be able to operate in both summer heat and winter frost — from +40 to -35 degrees Celsius. The equipment must also be protected from rain, dust and voltage drops.
Almaty Kala Zharyk expects bright LED lamps capable of lighting large sections of roads and streets. The manufacturer must guarantee uninterrupted operation for at least five years. The documents also state that the main elements of the lamps must have a service life of at least 50,000 hours.
When Will The Equipment Be Delivered?
For now, this is only a tender. Applications will close on June 18, after which the customer will review the proposals and choose a supplier. The company that will supply the new lamps for Almaty will be known after the tender results are announced.
The documents do not specify which streets will receive the new lights. It is also unclear whether the lamps will replace old equipment or expand the city’s outdoor lighting network.
