Young soldiers in Kazakhstan will undergo a two-week psychological adaptation period after being drafted, Orda.kz reports.

Deputy Defense Minister Askar Mustabekov said the General Staff has developed a new combat training plan. Under it, recruits will not be assigned to specific military positions during their first two weeks of service.

During this period, psychologists and educational specialists will assess their emotional state, stress resistance and ability to adapt to army life.

Young soldiers undergo psychological adaptation for the first two weeks after the draft. Psychologists and educators work with them, determine their psychological level and condition, and only after that servicemen are assigned to positions,Mustabekov said.

According to him, recruits with psychological difficulties will not automatically be sent home. Specialists will work with them, and doctors will be involved if serious problems are identified.

Mustabekov said the new procedure should help commanders detect problems earlier and assign servicemen to positions based on their psychological readiness.
