Ambulance Calls Rise as Extreme Heat Hits Almaty

Extreme heat in Almaty has sharply increased the pressure on the city’s ambulance service. Medical teams received more than 33,600 calls during the first two weeks of July, Orda.kz reports.
Many calls involved sudden spikes in blood pressure and cardiovascular conditions, including coronary heart disease and acute heart attacks. Patients suffering strokes were rushed to hospital.
Clinics continue to monitor patients with chronic illnesses, provide them with necessary medication and track their condition.
