Almaty Suspect Detained Over Fake Plates Imported from Russia

Kazakhstan’s transport police have broken up a scheme involving the production and nationwide sale of counterfeit vehicle registration plates, Orda.kz reports.
According to investigators, the fake plates were shipped from Russia using express delivery services and then sold to customers across Kazakhstan.
The suspected organizer of the operation was detained in Almaty. Police allege that the suspect systematically produced and sold counterfeit license plates.
Officers seized fake plates and other evidence. Investigative work is continuing to identify everyone involved in the scheme.
