Almaty Region Puts High-Risk Mountain Lakes Under Constant Watch

Seasonal high-mountain posts operated by Kazselezashchita have started working in Almaty region, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Specialists are monitoring the condition of mountain lakes at risk of outburst floods, as well as the broader hydrological situation.
The deployment of the posts is aimed at timely detection of possible changes and rapid notification in case of threats,the ministry said.
During the mudflow danger period, lakes with the highest risk of outburst will be monitored around the clock.
Earlier, rivers overflowed in several areas of Almaty region after torrential rains that lasted for several days. Orda.kz reported on how the flood aftermath is being dealt with.
