AI Development and Hydrometallurgical Complex: Other Meetings of Toqayev

Today, Tokayev spoke with Michelle Simmons, Microsoft's President in Central Europe and Central Asia. They discussed the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and the corporation, specifically the development of the IT industry and the creation of an ecosystem for startups.
At the meeting, it became clear that the Microsoft office in Kazakhstan has become a multi-regional hub whose activities cover Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia, and Pakistan.
Toqayev emphasized that the Kazakh side is working on legislation regarding artificial intelligence and plans to use its potential effectively.
Later, the President received Vitaly Nesis, CEO of Solidcore Resources plc. Nesis spoke about the work on exploration, extraction, and processing of precious and non-ferrous metals in Kazakhstan.
He reported on the construction of the Ertis GMK hydrometallurgical complex in Pavlodar. The plant's design capacity is 300,000 tons of concentrate per year. The new enterprise is assumed to produce Dore alloy with a purity of up to 98% gold.
Vitaly Nesis also mentioned the construction of a geological laboratory in Qaraganda.
