From April 13, 2026, work permits for labor immigrants in Kazakhstan can be issued or extended only online. Public service centers will no longer provide the service, Orda.kz reports.
The authorities say the new format is meant to simplify the process and eliminate unnecessary trips to government offices. The service is now available exclusively through eGov.kz.
Foreign nationals can apply online, including for work with private individuals in households. Some documents no longer need to be uploaded manually: medical certificate and insurance data are pulled automatically from state databases, which speeds up the process and reduces the risk of errors, the Ministry of Digital Development said.
The decision to issue or extend a permit is made by akimats of districts and cities of regional significance after coordination with the police. The permit is issued for a period of one month to one year within the established quota for attracting labour migrants.
