Since the beginning of 2026, motorists have made more than 28 million trips on toll roads in Kazakhstan. The country has 26 toll sections of republican importance with a total length of 4,883 kilometers, Orda.kz reports.

The highest transport activity was recorded on routes connecting major cities, border checkpoints, industrial zones, and tourist areas. According to KazAvtoZhol, the Almaty–Konayev section became the busiest toll road, with 4.3 million trips since the beginning of the year.

The three busiest toll sections also included Shymkent–the border with Uzbekistan, with 3.7 million trips, and Shymkent–Taraz, with 2.5 million trips. High traffic on these routes is linked to intensive passenger and freight movement, as well as their important role in interregional and international transport.

The top five toll sections by number of trips since the beginning of 2026 also included Taraz–Kainar, with 2.1 million trips, and Shymkent–Kyzylorda, with 1.8 million trips.

In tenth place was the Almaty–Khorgos highway, with 1.005 million vehicles recorded. The Kyzylorda–Aralsk road ranked fifteenth, with 667,000 vehicles.

At the bottom of the ranking were the Usharal–Dostyk and Beineu–Akzhigit sections, the latter near the border with Uzbekistan. Traffic on these routes reached 133,000 and 59,000 vehicles, respectively.
