Uzbekistan Signs Boeing Aircraft Deal, Reaches Agreements with U.S. Companies

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with American companies and investment funds in New York ahead of the UN General Assembly, Orda.kzreports, citing Gazeta.uz.

Talks covered mining, transport, energy, healthcare, and technology.

Agreements include:

  • Long-term cooperation in the field of transport between the Ministry of Transport and Boeing company
  • Establishing a joint venture for the production of mining and processing equipment between Technopark LLC and FLSmidth company
  • Creating a multidisciplinary clinic and an educational institution between Akfa Group and Cleveland Clinic
  • Mutual partnership and cooperation between the Centrum Air airline and the investment company Oppenheimer
  • Cooperation between the Ministry of economy and finance and Citigroup company
  • Financial cooperation between Uzbekhydroenergo JSC and Cargill Financial Services International
  • Cooperation between Uztransgaz JSC and Pangea Filtration Technology
  • Conducting geological exploration at prospective sites between the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology and Cove Capital
  • Cooperation between Yangi Kon LLC and SLB company
  • Cooperation in establishing funds to finance projects in the fields of artificial intelligence and biotechnology between the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and Biologic International company

Separately, Uzbekistan Airways signed a firm contract with Boeing to purchase 14 Dreamliner 787-9 aircraft, with an option for eight more. A memorandum was also signed between Boeing and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport on developing the aviation sector.

U.S. President Donald Trump, through envoy Sergio Gor, invited Mirziyoyev to visit Washington.

The Uzbek leader highlighted minerals, IT, infrastructure, and agriculture as priority areas and pledged full government support for American investors.

Mirziyoyev and Gor also discussed expanding cooperation, focusing on projects worth more than $100 billion.

Plans include using the capacities of the U.S. Eximbank and the Development Finance Corporation (DFC), as well as creating a joint Coordination Committee to accelerate project implementation.
