Gazeta.uz reports that Abdusalom Azizov, the State Security Service Chair, has been dismissed. Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbanov, previously Uzbekistan's Defense Minister, replaced him. Azizov, in turn, transitioned to a position in the Security Council under the President.
The alleged conflict reported on by Radio Ozodilik between Komil Allamjonov, Otabek Umarov, and the State Security Service is a notable background event. These circumstances may be coincidental, and there is no official confirmation regarding the supposed conflict.
An armed attack on Komil Allamjonov was committed on the night of October 26. Both suspects have been detained. Komil Allamjonov is known for his close ties to Saida Mirziyoyeva, the daughter of the current President of Uzbekistan.
