A large shipment of Kazakh potatoes was turned back at the Ak-Tilek checkpoint on the Kyrgyz border, Orda.kz reports.
Kyrgyz inspectors stopped the cargo after finding that the bags had no required labeling. The packaging did not indicate the name of the product, the country of origin, or information about the exporter.
Under EAEU rules, such labeling is mandatory. Without it, the goods are considered non-compliant.
After the inspection, the shipment was rejected, and the trucks that failed the check were sent back.
