US Authorities Find Body Believed To Be Kazakhstani Citizen

The body of a person believed to be a Kazakhstani citizen has been found in the United States, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yerlan Zhetybayev said, Orda.kz reports.
The statement came amid a large-scale search for 24-year-old Kazakhstani citizen Asset Kuralbay, who disappeared two weeks ago.
According to Zhetybayev, Kazakh authorities received the information from the relevant U.S. agencies.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has received information from the competent U.S. authorities about the discovery of the body of a person believed to be a citizen of Kazakhstan. The American side is currently carrying out the necessary procedures,Zhetybayev said.
He added that Kazakh diplomats are in contact with U.S. authorities and the person’s relatives.
Our diplomats are maintaining contact with the competent U.S. authorities and the citizen’s relatives. They are being provided with the necessary consular and legal assistance. We will provide additional information after receiving official data from the American side,the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
Earlier, Orda.kz reported that a 24-year-old Kazakhstani citizen had gone missing in Illinois. He stopped responding to messages in early June.
