Kazakhstan has begun exporting domestic products to the United States, Orda.kz reports.
The initiative is being carried out by the Global New York Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Salamat LLC (Qostanay) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The entry of Kazakh products into the US market demonstrates the high potential of the domestic agricultural sector. We are confident that products under the Product of Kazakhstan brand will be in demand by American consumers who value quality and environmentally friendly food products,
said Samat Umirzakov, President of the Global New York Chamber of Commerce.
According to QazTrade, 50 tons of Eurasian Legacy wheat flour were shipped to New York—the first major export project under the new U.S. market strategy.
We plan to further increase our supply volumes to over 100 tons of flour monthly. The product is already listed on major online platforms, Amazon and Walmart, and is also available in some American bakeries. On Amazon, it sells for $14.50 per 1.36 kg package. In addition to online sales, negotiations are already underway to supply the flour to restaurants, coffee shops, and local food chains,
QazTrade reported.
Discussions are also underway to supply products to major American retail chains, including Costco, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s.
Beyond flour, Kazakh buckwheat, granola, talkan, chocolate, and cocoa have also been introduced to the U.S. market.
The expansion was made possible by the opening of a QazTrade partner office in Washington, D.C., in July, which provides direct access to distributors and retailers. A business mission for Kazakh producers to New York, Chicago, and Washington is already being planned.
