Two Buses Get Stuck in Loose Gravel on Major Almaty Street

Two buses became stuck in a section of loose crushed-stone fill on Tole Bi Street in Almaty, bringing traffic along part of the road almost to a standstill, Orda.kz reports.
Eyewitnesses first reported the incident on social media. A Threads user described the situation on Tole Bi Street as chaotic and urged motorists to avoid the area. An Orda.kz correspondent also witnessed the incident.
Almatyelectrotrans said one of the buses was travelling east when its rear wheels entered a section filled with loose crushed stone. The material gave way under the vehicle’s weight, leaving the bus unable to move without assistance.
The company said no one was injured. An initial inspection found no visible damage to the bus body. According to preliminary information, the driver had not violated any traffic rules, and police officers did not draw up an accident report.
While the bus was travelling east along Tole Bi Street, its rear wheels entered a section containing loose crushed-stone fill. The material subsided under the weight of the bus, causing the wheels to sink and leaving the vehicle unable to continue without assistance. No one was injured, and no visible damage to the bus body was found. Preliminary information indicates that the driver committed no violations. As a safety precaution, the bus was sent for an additional technical inspection. Its undercarriage is being examined over an inspection pit to rule out any hidden damage,Almatyelectrotrans said.
Specialists are continuing to inspect the bus following the incident.
