Trump’s Comments on Russia and China Surface in Audio Recordings

Newly revealed audio recordings of former U.S. President Donald Trump from 2024 campaign events have sparked renewed attention after CNN and several U.S. media outlets aired excerpts, Orda.kz reports.
The tapes include Trump’s remarks on Russia, China, student protests, and donor relations.
One of the most widely discussed recordings features Trump recounting a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which he allegedly warned him against invading Ukraine.
“If you go into Ukraine, I’m gonna bomb the s—t out of Moscow,”
Trump said. “I’m telling you, I won’t have a choice.”
He claimed Putin took the threat seriously “ten percent,” suggesting it was just enough to act as a deterrent. A similar warning, Trump said, was delivered to Chinese President Xi Jinping in the context of Taiwan.
I said, you know, ‘If you go into Taiwan, I’m gonna bomb the s—t out of Beijing.’ He thought I was crazy. But we never had a problem,
Trump noted.
The audio materials are featured in the book “2024,” authored by journalists Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf. The Trump campaign declined to comment on the recordings.
Trump also made pointed remarks about student protesters participating in pro-Palestinian demonstrations on U.S. campuses.
One thing I’d do is any student that protests, I would throw them out of the country,
he stated, arguing such a move would stop the protests altogether.
Trump also spoke about the financial support he received from wealthy donors, describing how one of them increased his contribution from $1 million to $25 million after a private dinner.
The President also expressed frustration with current diplomatic efforts involving Russia:
“I’m not happy with Putin. Very unhappy,”
Trump said during a separate meeting, claiming that although peace talks are ongoing, Putin “keeps dragging his feet.”
Earlier, Trump had threatened new sanctions against Russia in response to continued strikes on Ukrainian territory. According to Bloomberg, the proposed restrictions could target Rosneft and Russian oil exports.
These latest recordings provide a glimpse into Trump’s private rhetoric and foreign policy stance during the 2024 election cycle, some of which diverge from his public messaging.
