Russia’s New Entry Rules Could Complicate Travel for Kazakhstanis

From July 1, 2026, Russia will introduce new entry rules for foreign citizens, including Kazakhstanis. The announcement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yerlan Zhetybayev, Orda.kz reports.
According to him, foreigners will have to create a profile in a mobile application and submit an electronic entry request at least 72 hours before traveling to Russia.
After the application is submitted, the system will generate a personal QR code confirming the right to enter the Russian Federation. This code will be valid for 90 days,Zhetybayev said.
He also warned that foreigners who fail to register or obtain a QR code may encounter problems while in Russia.
