Since its launch, Astana’s LRT system has transported 180,000 passengers, Orda.kz reports.
According to CTS board chairman Asylbek Duisebayev, 100,000 people used the line on its first day of operation — exceeding the system’s projected capacity.
Passenger traffic has now fallen by half, and trains are operating normally.
The company once again urged residents to follow safety rules — not to press emergency buttons unnecessarily, open train doors on their own or interfere with door closing.
Such actions are automatically perceived by the system as a threat to passenger safety,CTS board chairman said.
The day before, reports appeared on social media claiming that LRT trains had become “stuck” on the line. It later emerged that the disruption was caused by passengers violating safety rules.
