Tokayev Discusses Expansion of Partnership With Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Orda.kz reports.
Tokayev noted that Oman remains a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world and that bilateral relations are being steadily strengthened both politically and economically. The president conveyed greetings to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said and said he looked forward to his visit to Astana.
The sides discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation. The focus was on energy, metallurgy, transport and logistics, agriculture, and digitalization. The importance of developing cultural and humanitarian ties was also emphasized.
Kazakhstan is a very beautiful country with a rich cultural heritage. Relations between our countries, as you know well, were established back in 1992. We were therefore one of the first countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council to establish diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan. We are linked by close contacts covering almost all areas, including culture, trade, the economy and tourism. We hope to further strengthen our cooperation in these areas.Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tariq Al Said said.
Following the meeting, the president of Kazakhstan awarded Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tariq Al Said the Order of Dostyk, first degree, for his contribution to the development of cooperation and the strengthening of friendship between the two countries.
