Tech Imports to Kazakhstan Exempt From VAT Until 2030

Kazakhstan has approved a list of goods that will be exempt from value added tax on import until 2030, Orda.kz reports.
The list includes computers, laptops, servers, microprocessors, data storage devices, monitors, projectors and equipment for semiconductor production.
According to the document signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev, the exemption applies to both ready-made computing equipment and components.
In particular, laptops, personal computers, servers, hard drives, data storage devices, sound cards, electronic modules and other computer system components will be exempt from VAT on import.
The list also includes monitors, projectors, internet-enabled television equipment, navigation equipment and a number of electronic measuring instruments.
A separate part of the list covers equipment used to produce semiconductor devices and integrated circuits. The exemption will apply to machines and installations for processing and cleaning semiconductor wafers, equipment for applying patterns to silicon materials and other systems used in chip production.
The import of modern microprocessors, electronic modules, navigation equipment and specialised electronic devices is also exempt from VAT. This includes radio navigation receivers, remote control equipment, television equipment, some TVs, projectors and electronic dictionary translators.
