The Center for Analysis and Investigation of Cyberattacks has recorded abnormal activity of bots in social networks over the past week, Orda.kz reports.
The bots were united by one topic: the tragic events in Talgar connected with Sherzat Polat's death.
In the context of heightened interest in this undoubtedly important event, someone is using the situation to advance their own agenda. Fakes have appeared about rallies in Almaty and other cities, edited from old videos of the January events, the report says.
Most of these publications are on TikTok and Instagram. According to experts, an analysis of accounts and more than 50,000 comments in total showed the well-coordinated work of bots.
The cyberattack investigation center has advised users not to believe all information they encounter online and to double-check sources.
