The launch of railcars produced by the Swiss company Stadler, for which Kazakhstan Temir Zholy has taken out multibillion-tenge loans, has been postponed again and is now expected in May 2026, Orda.kz reports.
This was announced by Deputy Transport Minister Maksat Kaliakparov at a government briefing. According to him, the trains have already undergone testing. At the same time, another deputy transport minister, Talgat Lastayev, had earlier said the railcars would be launched in April, but that did not happen.
The date is April. There are certain technical issues between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Stadler, and this work is now underway.he said on March 19 at a briefing in the Senate.
Here is how his colleague commented on the issue today:
In pilot mode, Stadler railcars were tested. Technical issues were identified on the operator’s side. Stadler has undertaken to eliminate them, and in the coming month we literally plan to put them into operation and launch them on the route.he said.
